Wes Elder

Wes Elder is an innovative and accomplished IT manager recognized for his expertise in realigning business resources and solving technological challenges on a global scale. His experience in IT operations, startup organizations and global infrastructure coupled with his strengths of creating collaborative environments, streamlining change management process and strategic planning deliver extraordinary business results. Wes’s expertise stems from nearly a decade of experience with two of the world’s leading communications companies, AT&T and Harris. His initiation of a four year multi-million dollar project overhauling the trading system infrastructure of a national financial exchange firm during the 9/11 disaster resulted in a resilient and far more reliable network, delivering a constant 99.99% availability with a guarantee against future modern and environmental disasters. The increase in reliability helped his client grow electronic trading volumes from 15% to 74% of their total exchange volume and secured the partnership between the two partnering companies. Additionally, Wes’ leadership skills resulted in his traveling to Europe, Africa and Asia to lead a campaign to expand the revenue from the sale of managed services and support agreements. Within two years of his campaign, he produced over $23 million in additional revenue and reduced warranty cost by 12%.

Prior to joining the telecommunications industry, Wes was the IT manager for Divi Resorts and was responsible for IT operations at nine resorts located on six Caribbean Islands. Wes helped this organization achieve their phenomenal success, by establishing the company’s web presence and standardizing technical services across all nine properties. Almost immediately thereafter, helpdesk calls dropped by 64% and all resorts reported an increase in productivity.

Wes holds a bachelor’s degree from UNC at Charlotte in Electronic Engineering. He has received additional technical and leadership training from Global Knowledge and AT&T. He is a strong believer in helping others and rarely passes up the opportunity to support a good cause. Wes lives in North Raleigh with his wife and their two children.
