Blogging: I can not believe that I’m doing this…
It is amazing how much time one can spend making notes. And to a certain degree, I’m a bit of an information pack rat. I save anything – from magazines, notes books, business cards and even little bits scraps paper. Why you ask, because there is a ton of very useful information and most of it will come in handy to someone you know somewhere in the future. I think I have forgotten or lost more information than I presently hold. As I get older (not too old now, please don’t go there) and start planning for the next ten years of life, I feel the need to change, evolve and continue to do things better than before.
Now I have the insane task of trying of organize all of it. I was talking with a friend on the west coast the other day that turned me on to Web 2.0 (he is now working on Web 3.0). He and I are big fans of Stephen Covey and his planning system. The fundamental ideas behind his planning system really work. However, in our present age of information overload, you need an intelligent solution to solve the problem of organization and search. And, quit frankly, Franklin Covey’s planning software is a complete disappointment. So where should one look to find the next remedy? Hopefully, this is the answer.
This blog is hosted on my personal website use a great open source tool called Drupal. There are a ton of neat module and forums to help a technical person through any problem that you can invent (I’ll take about the invention of quandary in a later issue). So here is my problem. How do I invent a personal website that allows me to manage all this stuff? I’ll share this answer with you as we move forward. Stay tuned.
